Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Matty Hews (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Crayon Mars (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hews comes into the arena with animals blaring out of the sound system. Matty Hews could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Crayon Mars's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hews defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Mars.

and Mars decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Hews's guard.

Hews has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Mars can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Mars is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Hews gets his way!
Hews is trying to stick to Mars's back but Mars is turning into Hews. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Hews's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Mars.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Mars tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Despite being in the dominant position, Crayon Mars just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

and Hews counters with a single leg into guard. Mars didn't expect that.

Hews drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Mars dives on top into guard.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
