The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Curcic closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Gracie did well to prevent Curcic getting side control.

Curcic decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
Gracie fails with the takedown

and Curcic holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Curcic is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.

Curcic pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

and Curcic counters with a body kick.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Curcic pulls guard.
Curcic looking to hit a scissor sweep but Gracie is one step ahead there.

Gracie is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Curcic is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Curcic has escaped and now he's on top!

Curcic drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Curcic jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
