The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Drago connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.

Drago rushes Aschenbajan and presses him up against the cage.
Aschenbajan tries to pull guard but Drago holds him up against the cage and eventually Aschenbajan drops back down to his feet.
A body shot lands from Drago.
Aschenbajan tries to score a body lock takedown but Drago shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Drago is pressed up against the cage. Aschenbajan has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Drago down to the mat. Drago avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Ivan Drago has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Grigor Aschenbajan.
Aschenbajan shoots in for a takedown but Drago shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Drago throws a nice looking combination but Aschenbajan bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Drago misses with a wild combination.
Aschenbajan tries to score a power double leg takedown but Drago sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Aschenbajan somewhat.
Grigor Aschenbajan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Aschenbajan looks gassed!
Aschenbajan shoots in but Drago avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Drago lands a head kick. Aschenbajan smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
A slapping leg kick lands for Drago.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Drago lands a front kick.
A left and a right from Drago both land. Nice combination.

It looks like Grigor Aschenbajan has been cut.
Drago scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

Drago lands a left and a right that send Aschenbajan crashing to the mat, dazed. Drago thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Drago throws an overhand right from the outside, which connects and sends Aschenbajan stumbling backwards into the cage! Aschenbajan bounces back off the cage towards Drago, who cracks him with a two punch combination that drops him to his knees! Drago lands two more shots before the referee has chance to intervene - what a finish! Drago celebrates with his corner as the crowd cheer loudly.
