Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Keizo Sawaki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Peter Compton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sawaki kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is 'Kodo' by The Yoshida Brothers. Peter Compton has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Keizo Sawaki's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 11 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Peter Compton!
The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Shirou Masuda and Taro Takaoka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Compton bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Compton moves away from the strike by Sawaki.
Compton misses with a few strikes there.
A combination from Compton does no damage.
Compton throws a leg kick but Sawaki moved away.
Sawaki moves out of range of the leg kick from Compton.
Compton throws a series of punches but Sawaki moves out of range.
Compton scores with a jab to the head.
Compton fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Sawaki throws a series of punches but Compton moves out of range.
Sawaki moves out of range as Compton strikes.

Compton has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Sawaki can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Sawaki stops Compton from standing up.
Compton pulls Sawaki in close to prevent any damage.
Compton wants to stand up but Sawaki is controlling him.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

That was a close round but I would say that Keizo Sawaki will probably get the nod.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

It looks like Keizo Sawaki has been cut.
Sawaki uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Compton has time to react.

Sawaki uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Compton.
Sawaki closes this distance looking for a takedown but Compton circles away.

Peter Compton showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

That's time! Sawaki's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. And we move into the final round!


Compton doesn't manage to clinch there - Sawaki circles away.
Compton cracks Sawaki with a good jab.
Sawaki throws and low kick but Compton moves out of range easily.

so Sawaki counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Sawaki wants to control from the top but Compton keeps moving.
Compton is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Compton wants to stand up but Sawaki has a hold of him and won't allow it.
The fighters are battling for position here. Sawaki manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Sawaki looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Compton puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Compton wants to take a breather but Sawaki is having none of it.
Compton might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Sawaki kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Compton would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
