The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mitchell shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Cosmo pinned against the cage. Cosmo gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Cosmo stuffs the takedown.

Mitchell scores a takedown into full mount!
Cosmo is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Cosmo wants to control but Mitchell is having none of it.

Mitchell looking to secure an arm triangle but Cosmo defends it well.
Cosmo is trying desperately to improve position.

Mitchell is working for a guillotine from mount but Cosmo frees his head quite easily.

Mitchell jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Cosmo manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Cosmo is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Mitchell has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Mitchell is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Cosmo has escaped the position, nice work there.
Mitchell is breathing heavily.
Cosmo dodges the ground and pound from Mitchell.
Cosmo is looking for a sweep.
Cosmo is pushing Mitchell's head away, looking to escape. Mitchell manages to hold on to the position though.
Cosmo is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
Cosmo is trying to get back to half guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Mitchell looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Brock Mitchell. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Cosmo throws a nice head kick!

Mitchell moves into range and clinches up with Cosmo.
Cosmo is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

Mitchell is pressed up against the cage. Cosmo has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Mitchell down to the mat. Mitchell avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Cosmo throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Cosmo throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Mitchell's head.
