The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Galinha closes this distance looking for a takedown but Contini circles away.
Galinha wants to clinch up but Contini keeps it at a distance.
Galinha moves in looking to clinch but Contini pushes him off.
Mane Galinha seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Contini displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Galinha throws out the jab.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Galinha shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Contini pinned against the cage. Contini gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Galinha tries to close the distance and clinch but Contini swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Contini cracks Galinha with an uppercut from hell and Galinha crumples to the canvas, he's out! Oh no, he's recovered and he's grabbed one of Contini's legs and pulled him into guard. The ref thought about stopping it there but he's let it go - good reffing!

Contini decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Galinha, up you get!
Galinha seems to have recovered his senses.
Contini tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Galinha paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Contini lands with a right hand.
Galinha seems to be squinting his left eye. Perhaps he got a poke in that previous exchange. Contini shows no mercy and swarms him with a barage of strikes! Galinha is backing up but Contini catches him with a final right hook that drops him! Galinha covers up and the referee steps in to end the fight! Contini Jumps to his feet and flashes his guns to the crowd. Oh yeah, baby! How'd you like them apples?!
