Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between William O Leary (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Charlie Murpy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Murpy is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Victory. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, William O Leary!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Charlie Murpy!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
O Leary misses with a wild combination.
Murpy thuds a left hand into O Leary's body.
O Leary fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Jab, jab by Murpy - just one landing.
O Leary tries to close the distance and clinch up but Murpy swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Murpy misses with a body shot.
O Leary misses with a series of wild punches.
A combination from Murpy does no damage.
O Leary misses with a jab to the body

and Murpy counters with a shoot takedown. O Leary fights it but they end up in guard.

Murpy's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Murpy wants to pass the guard but O Leary is keeping the position.

Murpy is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! O Leary is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! O Leary has escaped and now he's on top!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Murpy is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Murpy had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. O Leary defends it easily.

Murpy escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. O Leary gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

O Leary falls off balance throwing a combination

and Murpy counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in O Leary's guard now.

O Leary throws a series of punches but Murpy moves out of range.

and Murpy cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

O Leary showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Murpy.
O Leary gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
O Leary tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Murpy was well out of range. Poor timing from O Leary.

and Murpy cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Murpy lands a jab to the head.
O Leary throws a combination that misses
and Murpy counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Murpy fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Charlie Murpy showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! And we move into the final round!

O Leary defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Murpy.

William O Leary seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
O Leary lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.

O Leary is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Murpy wants to control but O Leary is keeping busy.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Murpy is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but O Leary pulls his head out easily.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

O Leary working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Murpy thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Well Murpy has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
