The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Raith tries to clinch there but Sulag circles away.
Michael Sulag seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Raith fails with the takedown.
Raith shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Raith tries to clinch up but Sulag circles away and keeps his distance.
Sulag throws out a powerful jab.
Sulag tries to bum rush Raith with a series of wild strikes but Raith uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Raith closes the distance and clinches up with Sulag, looking for a takedown. Raith pushes Sulag against the cage but Sulag circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Thomas Raith. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Sulag ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Raith moves away.
Raith misses with a low kick.

Sulag lands a left and a right that send Raith crashing to the mat, dazed. Sulag thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

Raith is rocked!

It looks like Thomas Raith has been cut.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
I'm just looking down at my notes here and I see that.... oh! Sulag has cracked Raith with a big right, followed by a left! He's out on his feet! Sulag lands another huge swinging hook and Raith tumbles to the canvas! The ref dives in to save Raith, before Sulag can land any more shots!
