Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Hard Core (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Balunk Salim (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 7 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Hard Core!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Balunk Salim!
The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Illya Tyunina and Aleksei Zolotukhin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Core closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Salim did well to prevent Core getting side control.

Core is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Core wants to take a breather but Salim is having none of it.
Core stops Salim from getting back to his feet.
Salim is staying active underneath Core, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Core connects with a nice short shot to Salim's temple.
Core missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Salim wants to get back to his feet.
Salim is in trouble now - Core has advanced to mount!
Salim's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Core breaks from Salim's wrist control and lands an elbow.

Core has control of Salim's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Salim regains control of the situation pretty easily.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Salim can do anything to dispel that myth.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Salim tries to buck Core off but he can't manage it.
Core thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
Salim squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.
Salim is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
Core with the ground and pound from mount.

Core is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Salim has managed to escape the submission attempt.
You get the feeling that Salim really doesn't like being in this position too much.

Core jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Salim manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Core working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Salim throws Core to one side and escapes!
Core shoots in looking for a takedown. Salim tries to sprawl out of it but Core keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Salim manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Core is breathing heavily.
Salim lands with a shot to the body.
Salim lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Salim lands a body shot.
Salim connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Core shoots in but Salim avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Salim scores with the left hand. Core knows he should have avoided that one.
Salim with a hook.
Salim lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Core at a distance.
A decent looking cross lands there for Salim.
Salim stuns Core with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Salim throws a one two combo.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Core has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Core there as he acknowledges the shot.
Salim stuffs the takedown attempt from Core. Core gets slowly back to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Hard Core. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Salim lands a glancing blow to the side of Core's head.
Core takes one on the button.
A left lands for Salim.


Core is rocked!
Salim lands a really nice looking cross but Core seems unphased.
Oh Core is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Salim lands a jab to Core's midsection.
Core seems to have got his legs back now.
Core doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Balunk Salim dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Salim tests Core's chin there with a solid looking shot.

Core decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Core prevents Salim from standing back up.

Salim kicks off Core and gets to his feet.
Hard Core is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Salim scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Core on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.

Core gets the takedown into side control.

Core is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Salim knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Core prevents Salim from escaping the position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Core has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Salim bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!
Salim catches Core with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Core takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
The crowd cheers as Salim lands an impressive looking overhand right. Core doesn't seem phased though.
Balunk Salim seems to be getting the better of the standup.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Salim scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Salim lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Core at a distance.
Core walks into a left hand.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Salim paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Salim fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Salim lands a slapping body shot.
Salim scores with a nice strike.
Salim lands a nice looking body shot.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Core on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Salim connects with a right hand. Core shakes it off.
Good standup being displayed there by Salim as he connects with a hook.
Salim has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Salim throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Salim lands a jab-cross combination.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Salim works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Salim throws an overhand right that drops Core like a sack of potatoes! Salim dives in to finish the fight with more strikes and this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:53 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Balunk Salim!
