The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hoffmann steps into range and cracks Ribeiro with a monster punch that buckles his knees! Ribeiro flops backwards and Hoffmann dives into his guard looking to finish!

It looks like Victor Ribeiro has been cut.

Ribeiro escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Hoffmann gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Hoffmann must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

A head kick by Hoffmann - that's a beauty! Ribeiro is out but he's somehow still standing... he's going... going... gone. Like a drunk walking down the middle of the road, the inevitable face plant follows and the delayed knockout arrives. Even Hoffmann can't help but laugh at the bizarre end to this one!
