Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ahmad Durrani!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mike Thomas Black!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Frank Dennis and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fight stays on the outside here - Black looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Durrani thuds his shin into the meat of Black's side.
Black throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Durrani's waist but Durrani gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Black off to one side.
Durrani is looking to land body kicks.
Durrani throws out a leg kick but Black moves out of range and Durrani only half commits.
Black tries to close the distance and clinch but Durrani swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Black fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Black checks a leg kick.
Durrani throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Black is defended easily by Durrani.
Ahmad Durrani has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mike Thomas Black.
Black misses with a takedown attempt - Durrani sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Jab, jab by Durrani - just one landing.
Black takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Black moves away from the strike by Durrani.
Durrani pushes Black away with a front kick.
Mike Thomas Black seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Durrani throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Durrani misses with a low kick.
Durrani feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Black sprawling to the canvas! Black rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Durrani finish him?!
Black is rocked!
It looks like Mike Thomas Black has been cut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Black fails with the takedown.
Black is still on wobbly legs! Can Durrani finish him?
Black looks gassed!
Black shoots in looking for a takedown. Durrani tries to sprawl out of it but Black keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Durrani manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Black leaves his chin hanging out and Durrani seizes the opportunity with an uppercut! Black crumbles to the floor in a heap, and the referee steps in and tends to the downed fighter! What a knockout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:10 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Ahmad Durrani!
