Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Donagh Quinlan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rufus Wainright (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rufus Wainright is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Rufus Wainright!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wainright shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Quinlan as he jumps to the side.
Wainright fails with a takedown attempt.

Quinlan rushes Wainright and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Quinlan jumps into guard, dragging Wainright to the mat.
Wainright postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Quinlan is looking to sweep but instead, Wainright has passed into half guard.
Wainright controlling the pace.
Wainright stalling away here and it's allowed Quinlan to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.

Quinlan trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Quinlan moves into the clinch.
A frustrated look appears on Wainright's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Quinlan is working for takedown but Wainright is calmly controlling the position for now.
Wainright throws an elbow but it misses.
Wainright gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Quinlan.
Wainright stalls.

and Wainright counters with a two punch combo.

Quinlan shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Wainright pinned against the cage. Wainright gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Quinlan goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Quinlan defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Wainright.

Wainright connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Quinlan throws a nice looking combination but Wainright bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Quinlan tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Wainright paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Quinlan tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Wainright smiles and moves away.
Quinlan leaves Wainright with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Quinlan looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

That was a close second round but I would say that Donagh Quinlan will probably get the nod.

Donagh Quinlan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rufus Wainright.
Quinlan shoots in for a takedown but Wainright shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Wainright seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Well Quinlan has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
