Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Anton Wasa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rafael Narvaez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wasa comes to the cage accompanied by UK Subs - Warhead. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Anton Wasa!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rafael Narvaez!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Frank Dennis and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wasa slips under a jab.
Narvaez tried to score with a low kick but Wasa checks it.
Narvaez shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Nice body punch from Narvaez.
Nice defenses there by Narvaez.
Wasa takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Wasa lands a head shot.
Wasa throws a sloppy body shot
and Narvaez counters with a good, hard body kick but Wasa shrugs it off.
Decent striking displayed by Wasa there.
Wasa scores with a hook to the body. Narvaez takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.

and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Wasa works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Wasa looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Wasa fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Wasa content just to control the position here.
Narvaez is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.

That was a close round but I would say that Anton Wasa will probably get the nod.
That's time! Wasa's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Wasa goes for a takedown attempt but Narvaez pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Anton Wasa seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Wasa misses the jab.
Rafael Narvaez is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Narvaez lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Wasa has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Wasa and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Narvaez tries to clinch but Wasa is having none of it.
Narvaez throws a chopping leg kick but Wasa manages to avoid taking any serious damage.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Wasa tries to score a power double leg takedown but Narvaez sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Wasa somewhat.

and Narvaez counters with a nice leg kick.

Wasa bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
You can see the frustration on Narvaez's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
The referee asks Wasa politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Wasa prefers to stall for the moment though.
Narvaez gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.

Wasa trying to control the action but Narvaez is working from the bottom.
Narvaez moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Narvaez wants to get back to his feet but Wasa is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Narvaez looking to hit a scissor sweep but Wasa is one step ahead there.
Wasa trying to control the position from guard on top but Narvaez is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Rafael Narvaez showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Wasa shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Wasa was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Wasa controlling the pace for now.
Narvaez bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
Wasa might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Narvaez tries to stand but can't do so whilst Wasa controls his leg.

Narvaez content to control rather than advance.

Narvaez seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Narvaez seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Wasa does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Wasa closes this distance looking for a takedown but Narvaez circles away.

Wasa changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Narvaez tries to avoid it but Wasa manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Narvaez to the ground. Narvaez escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
A looping hook to the body misses from Wasa. Narvaez does a little dance to reset his feet.
Wasa walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
A nice inside leg kick there by Narvaez. That's going to slow Wasa down.
Narvaez cracks Wasa with a right hand to the side of the head.
Wasa shoots in but no luck this time.
Narvaez throws and low kick but Wasa moves out of range easily.
Wasa scores with a jab to the body.

Good work by Wasa as he checks the leg kick.
Wasa tries to move into range but Narvaez moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Narvaez looks for the body kick but Wasa saw that one coming.

Narvaez on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Narvaez lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Narvaez throws a leg kick which misses Wasa's front leg but catches the back leg as Wasa tries to avoid it.
Narvaez swings for the body but Wasa moves out of range.
Narvaez keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Wasa tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Narvaez was well out of range. Poor timing from Wasa.
Wasa looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Narvaez is fending him off so far but Wasa persists. Nope, Narvaez circles away and we're back to standing.
Narvaez tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Narvaez is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Narvaez is pressing down on Wasa's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Wasa wants to pass the guard but Narvaez is keeping the position.
Wasa slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Narvaez wants to get back to his feet but Wasa is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Narvaez avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Narvaez is on top in guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Narvaez stands up and waves to Wasa to follow him.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


Narvaez lands with a thumping leg kick.
Wasa scores with a body shot.
Wasa fails with a takedown attempt.

Wasa feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Wasa passes Narvaez's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Wasa stops Narvaez from getting back to his feet.

Wasa wants to pass to mount but Narvaez is defending the position.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Wasa throws an overhand right that lands on Narvaez's shoulder, as Narvaez tries to avoid the shot.
Wasa tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Narvaez swivels and escapes.
Wasa misses with a takedown attempt - Narvaez sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Wasa throws a hook to the side of Narvaez's head but Narvaez sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Rafael Narvaez seems to be getting the better of the standup.

A telegraphed right hand from Wasa misses the target.
Wasa throws out a loose jab but Narvaez uses good head movement to avoid it.
Narvaez ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

And that's the end of the fight!
Anton Wasa showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Narvaez has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
