Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Andrew Kelly (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dante Slavovick (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Andrew Kelly!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Dante Slavovick!
The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Damien Edna and John Mangel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kelly tries to clinch up.
Slavovick looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!

Kelly shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Kelly tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Slavovick is wriggling around trying to escape.
Slavovick takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Kelly cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!


Slavovick is rocked!
Kelly lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Slavovick is still in real trouble! Can Kelly finish him?
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Kelly looking to finish with strikes here!
Kelly misses with a head shot.
Kelly throws some wild stikes that Slavovick manages to avoid easily.

Kelly throwing strikes here but Slavovick is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
Slavovick seems to have recovered his senses.

Kelly can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Slavovick is looking to escape.
Kelly lands a big elbow.
Kelly controlling the position easily from mount.

Kelly goes for an armbar but Slavovick turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Slavovick.

Kelly wants to stand but Slavovick is controlling the position.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Kelly wants to clinch.

Slavovick shoots in and bounces Kelly off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Kelly had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Slavovick is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Kelly Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Slavovick's back instead.
Kelly is not going to allow Slavovick to sit and survive in this position.
Kelly controlling well, preventing Slavovick from escaping the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Kelly misses with a takedown
and Slavovick counters with a head kick. That will keep Kelly thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
Kelly tries to clinch but Slavovick is having none of it.
Kelly throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Kelly sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Slavovick's guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Slavovick decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Kelly kicks Slavovick off and gets back to his feet.
Slavovick tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
No joy there for Kelly, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Kelly misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Kelly will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Slavovick with a poor takedown
and Kelly counters with a straight right hand.
Kelly blocks a head kick by Slavovick.
Kelly misses with a double jab.
Slavovick is looking to clinch but Kelly is avoiding it.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Slavovick blocks the body kick.
Slavovick looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Slavovick jumps guard but Kelly stands there with Slavovick around his waist. Slavovick gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Kelly wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Kelly breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Kelly tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Slavovick is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Kelly shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Slavovick as he jumps to the side.
Kelly throws a predictable looking body shot
and Slavovick makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.

and Slavovick counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Slavovick.
Slavovick tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Kelly jumps guard.
Kelly looking to hit a scissor sweep but Slavovick is one step ahead there.
Slavovick postures up.
Kelly tries to land a sweep but no joy.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

and Slavovick decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Kelly's guard.
Slavovick is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Slavovick stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kelly swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Kelly has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Slavovick has passed into side control.
Kelly sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Slavovick wants to pass to mount but Kelly is defending the position.

Kelly has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Slavovick is working away from the top position though.

I would just about give that final round to Dante Slavovick.
Well Kelly has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
