PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Sam Kildahl (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Terry Brunk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Brunk has chosen Hukka Blues as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Terry Brunk is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Sam Kildahl!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 2, fighting out of Las Vegas, Terry Brunk!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Cecil Peabody and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brunk avoids a punch combination nicely.
Kildahl fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Kildahl takes a swing at Brunk's ribcage but misses.

Brunk clinches up against the cage.
Kildahl softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage.

Brunk jumps into guard, dragging Kildahl to the mat.

Kildahl gets to his feet - Brunk follows without any prompting.
Brunk is looking to clinch but Kildahl is avoiding it.
Kildahl lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Brunk circles away quickly and effectively.
Brunk uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Kildahl.
Brunk tries to clinch but Kildahl is having none of it.

Kildahl closes the distance and clinches.

Brunk gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Kildahl regains guard.

Kildahl is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
Brunk tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Kildahl smiles and moves away.

Brunk closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Brunk decides to stand up.

Kildahl rushes Brunk and presses him up against the cage.
Brunk has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Kildahl is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Brunk is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Kildahl is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Brunk to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Brunk shrugs it off.

Kildahl has hold of Brunk's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Brunk manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Brunk tries to lock up and control but Kildahl gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Kildahl looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Brunk throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Kildahl's waist but Kildahl gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Brunk off to one side.

Brunk tries to move into range but Kildahl moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Brunk throws a head kick but Kildahl moves out of range.
