Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Aloe VERA (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dan Trejo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). VERA comes to the ring accompanied by Low. Dan Trejo struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 206.7lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. This should be fireworks!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
VERA scores with a punch to the head.

Trejo gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows VERA to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Trejo had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. VERA defends it easily.
Trejo manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. VERA manages to get himself to full guard.

VERA escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Trejo gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
VERA is trying to control the position but Trejo postures up.
Trejo has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of VERA is proving hard to escape from.

VERA has his foot on Trejo's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Trejo works his way back into a safe position though.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now VERA is on top in guard.
VERA slips nicely into half guard.

VERA seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Trejo does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
VERA thows a big elbow that misses, also allowing Trejo to regain full guard.
VERA has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

VERA drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Trejo dives on top into guard.
VERA wants to sweep here but Trejo controlling him for the moment.

Trejo avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Trejo really doesn't want to stay on the ground with VERA. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
