Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Alan Shilt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Maximo Mendoza (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Alan Shilt looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mendoza has closed the distance and engaged Shilt in a clinch.

Mendoza turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Mendoza manages to end up in side control.

Mendoza working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Mendoza tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Mendoza has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Mendoza wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Shilt, who protects the arm well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Shilt is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Mendoza has just dragged him back down to the mat.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Shilt knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Mendoza on the ground.

Mendoza thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Shilt wants to stand and escape but instead Mendoza has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
