Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jacob Lee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Icaro Asas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Icaro Asas is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jacob Lee!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Icaro Asas!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A looping hook to the body misses from Asas. Lee does a little dance to reset his feet.
Lee shoots in but Asas avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Lee moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Lee looks to score with a jab to the body but Asas is just out of range.
Lee connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Lee jabs at Asas's body.
Asas keeps the fight on the outside.
Lee changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Asas tries to avoid it but Lee manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Asas to the ground. Asas escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Lee lands a body shot.
Asas fails in his attempt to clinch.
Jacob Lee seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Asas goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Lee tries a head kick but it misses.
Asas fails to land the takedown.
A left lands for Lee.
Lee throws a series of punches but Asas avoids them all with ease.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

I looks like Asas might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Despite being in the dominant position, Icaro Asas just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Icaro Asas showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!


Asas keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Lee is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Asas shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Lee as he jumps to the side.
Asas will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Jacob Lee is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

and Asas counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Asas working over Lee with some ground and pound. Lee looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.

Asas tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
BOOM! Asas connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Asas takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Lee is squirming around, avoiding Asas's attempts to control the action.

The referee warns Lee that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Asas has hold of Lee's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Lee manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Asas with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Lee tries to lock up and control but Asas gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Icaro Asas is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
