PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Luimunaama Lare (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cees Overeem (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lare comes into the arena with AC/DC - Hell's Bells blaring out of the sound system. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Overeem tries to keep at a distance but Lare has taken the fight into the clinch.
Overeem misses with a short punch on the inside.

Lare wants to get back to striking at distance but Overeem won't allow it.
Lare lands with a light punch inside.
Overeem throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Lare blocks it with crossed arms.
Overeem has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Lare lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Overeem creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Overeem tries a knee to the head but Lare blocks it.

Lare has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Overeem is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Lare has had enough of the clinch but Overeem keeps him there for the moment.
Overeem lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage.
Lare wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Overeem is trying to break the clinch but Lare is controlling him.
Lare tries to pull guard but Overeem holds him up against the cage and eventually Lare drops back down to his feet.

Lare clinches up against the cage.
Lare is trying to force a seperation but Overeem has the dominant position.
Lare is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Overeem lands a shot to the body.
Lare lands a right hand.
A nice left hand lands by Lare.
A frustrated look appears on Lare's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Overeem wants to get back to striking at distance but Lare won't allow it.

Lare's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Overeem tries to close the distance and clinch up but Lare swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Lare moves into the clinch.
Lare tries to circle away but Overeem has him pinned against the cage.
Overeem doesn't land with the attempted body shot.

Lare has Overeem pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Lare pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Overeem tumbling to the mat - Lare dives into Overeem's guard.

Lare working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Lare postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Lare throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Overeem works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Lare won't allow Overeem to get back to his feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Lare throws a strike but Overeem rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Overeem wants to get up but he can't break Lare's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Overeem slips a jab from Lare.
Lare displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Overeem throws out the jab.

Lare drops Overeem with a beautiful combination! Overeem stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Lare is looking for the KO!
Overeem doesn't manage to clinch there - Lare circles away.

Lare has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Overeem avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Good anti-grappling being displayed by Lare as Overeem tries to tie him up.

Lare escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Luimunaama Lare seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Lare moves in looking to clinch but Overeem pushes him off.
Lare ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
