Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mikami Teru (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Narima Koga (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Mikami Teru!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Narima Koga!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Kenichi Hosakawa and Ren Mimura.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Koga tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Koga tries to close the distance and clinch but Teru swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Koga lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.


It looks like Mikami Teru has been cut.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Koga tries to kick Teru off but Teru keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Teru slows the pace down in half guard.
Teru thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Koga's head.
Teru is taking a breather. Koga says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Koga pushes Teru off looking to stand but Teru dives back in and keeps control.
Teru takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Teru's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Mikami Teru.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Koga tries to close the distance and clinch but Teru swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Koga does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Teru slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Teru has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Teru is pushing down on Koga's leg trying to pass to half guard. Koga is fighting to maintain full guard but Teru has managed to sneak the leg through.

Teru decides to stand and escape the position.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Koga is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Teru dives into side control.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Koga smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.

Teru is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.

Koga stalks Teru and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Teru's face. Teru staggers backwards, shaken.

and Koga counters with a left and a right that stings Teru.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Teru tests Koga's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Koga tries to close the distance and clinch up but Teru swats him away and circles back towards the center.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Koga is trying to maintain a safe position but Teru gets an underhook and turns Koga into the ropes.

Koga throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Teru blocks it with crossed arms.

Teru pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Mikami Teru is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Teru throws the left hand but Koga avoids the punch easily.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Mikami Teru.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Teru, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
