Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Summer Carpenter and Damien Edna.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mota misses the shot to the body.
Mota tries to score a power double leg takedown but Smith sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Mota somewhat.
Mota tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Smith swivels and escapes.
A slow jab from Mota misses its intended target.
Mota stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Mota shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rolando Mota. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Smith ducks under a wild hook from Mota.
Smith drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Mota sneaks back into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Smith landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Mota trying to hold on to Smith's head to control him but Smith postures up.
Mota wants to get back to full guard.
Mota knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Smith on the ground.

Smith seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Mota avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Smith.
Mota tries to roll over but Smith keeps him under control.
Smith not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Mota on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Mota tries to get out of the position.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Smith takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Smith shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Smith lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Smith missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Smith works his foot free and advances to mount.
Smith looking to finish Mota with some ground and pound. This is bad for Mota!

Smith avoids the attempt from Mota to control.
Mota working to try and regain half guard.
Mota is breathing heavily.
Mota is bucking up trying to escape but Smith cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Mota is in a horrible position here. Smith smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Mota is rocked!
Smith has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Oooooh, big shot lands for Smith! Mota is hurt baaadly! Smith is firing away with more strikes - Mota is covering up... the ref is warning him to do something. He's just covering up though still and the ref has to step in to end the fight! This one is all over!
