Johnson comes to the cage accompanied by If you smell what the rock is cookin'.... Dwayne Johnson has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Hiro Nakamura!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, George Francis and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Johnson gets caught flat footed, as Nakamura shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Nakamura stands up from Johnson's guard - Nakamura perhaps looking for a knockout.

Nakamura drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Nakamura gets to his feet. Johnson looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Left hook, right uppercut from Nakamura.
Good standup being displayed there by Nakamura as he connects with a hook.

Nakamura moves into the clinch successfully.

Nakamura turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Nakamura manages to end up in side control.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Nakamura has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Nakamura scores a takedown into full mount!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Johnson's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

Nakamura takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Johnson on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Johnson tries to get out of the position.
I looks like Nakamura might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Nakamura looking to control but Johnson is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Nakamura gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!
Johnson takes a body punch but keeps moving.

Johnson has Nakamura up against the cage in a clinch.

Nakamura pushes Johnson back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Nakamura lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Johnson.
Johnson is pressed up against the cage. Nakamura has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Johnson down to the mat. Johnson avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Nakamura closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Johnson to the mat! Johnson manages to get full guard.

Nakamura gets to his feet. Johnson looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Nakamura's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Nakamura duly obliges.

Nakamura shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Nakamura get's back to his feet.
Johnson is breathing heavily.
Nakamura cracks a nice hook into Johnson's ribs.

Nakamura closes the distance and pushes Johnson back into the cage.

Nakamura is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Johnson can't fight it off and eventually Nakamura manages to take the fight to the floor. Johnson looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Nakamura stands up and waves to Johnson to follow him.
Nakamura throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Johnson.
Johnson shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Nakamura counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Hiro Nakamura seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Johnson has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Nakamura turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Nakamura lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Nice uppercut there from Nakamura.

Nakamura digs a good body shot into Johnson's ribs.
Nakamura fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.

Nakamura closes the distance and clinches.

Nakamura wants the takedown. Johnson is fighting it off but Nakamura persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Johnson's guard against the cage.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Nakamura decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Johnson, up you get!

Nakamura closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Nakamura stands up and we're back to a striking position.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Nakamura wants to control the pace but Johnson is squirming around nicely.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hiro Nakamura dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Johnson takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Nakamura lunges at Johnson with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Johnson's hand.

Nakamura gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.

Nakamura stands up and waves to Johnson to follow him.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

and Nakamura counters with a thumping low kick.

Nakamura is trying to trip Johnson. He has hold of a leg but Johnson is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Nakamura persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Nakamura closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Nakamura decides to stand up, so the ref orders Johnson to his feet.
Nakamura looks to land a combination. Johnson sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Nakamura lands a jab to the nose.
Johnson ducks right into an uppercut from Nakamura.

Nakamura shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Nakamura decides to return to a standing position.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


Nakamura wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

Hiro Nakamura is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Nakamura throws a right and a left that both miss.

Nakamura forces Johnson back against the cage and clinches.
Johnson tries to pull guard but Nakamura holds him up against the cage and eventually Johnson drops back down to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dwayne Johnson. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Nakamura has picked Johnson up - he's going for a ride! Nakamura dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Nakamura decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Nakamura has closed the distance and engaged Johnson in a clinch.
Nakamura lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Dwayne Johnson has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Nakamura has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Johnson regains guard immediately.

Well Nakamura has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
