PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Scott Parslow (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and SD Plissken (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 7 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Scott Parslow!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, SD Plissken!
The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Aleksandr Martynov and Aleksei Zolotukhin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Parslow shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Parslow is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.

Parslow stands up and beckons Plissken to join him on the feet.

Parslow gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Parslow tries to stall but Plissken uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Plissken wants a takedown but no success here.
Plissken has Parslow pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Parslow manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Plissken has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Parslow avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Scott Parslow has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of SD Plissken.
Plissken wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Parslow has him pressed against the cage.
Parslow gets underhooks to prevent Plissken's takedown attempt.
Parslow gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Plissken.

Parslow breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Parslow scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.

Parslow feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Parslow is looking to stand up but Plissken won't let him.

Plissken looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Parslow passes into half guard.
Plissken tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Parslow has advanced to mount. Uh oh.

Plissken is trying desperately to improve position.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Parslow stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.
Plissken throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.

and Parslow counters with a right hand to the body.
Plissken tries to clinch but fails miserably

and Parslow counters with a single leg into guard. Plissken didn't expect that.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Parslow wants to stand but Plissken has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Plissken manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Parslow manages to get himself to full guard.

Plissken thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Plissken drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Plissken jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Parslow fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Plissken, pushing him back against the cage.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Parslow's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Plissken throws a left and a right that both miss
enabling Parslow to counter with a crisp jab.

Plissken darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Plissken throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Parslow counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Plissken cracks Parslow with a right hand to the side of the head.

Parslow is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Plissken sees it coming and defends easily.
Plissken wants to improve his position but Parslow is controlling well.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Parslow wants to stand up but Plissken is controlling the position.

Plissken looking for submissions off his back.

Parslow stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Plissken to get to his feet.
Plissken tries for a takedown but Parslow circles away easily
and Parslow counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Parslow tries to clinch but Plissken moves out of range.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Parslow changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Plissken tries to avoid it but Parslow manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Plissken to the ground. Plissken escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Parslow shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
SD Plissken is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Plissken lands a jab to the nose.
Plissken lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Parslow backs up against the cage.

Plissken scores with a takedown into Parslow's guard.
Plissken works over Parslow with some ground and pound from guard.
Plissken throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Parslow works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Parslow avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Parslow thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Plissken scoring with some ground and pound.

Plissken keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Parslow's head.
Plissken content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Plissken stands and throws Parslow's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Plissken tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Plissken is trying to get an arm triangle but Parslow is defending well.
Parslow tries to strike from the bottom but misses.

Parslow manages to work his way to half guard, despite Plissken's best efforts.
Parslow avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Plissken.

Plissken seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Parslow is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
