The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kurmotus throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Nieminen sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Taisto Kurmotus seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kurmotus lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Kurmotus drops his shoulder and cracks Nieminen with a huge uppercut! Nieminen goes down! Can Kurmotus finish him?
Nieminen is rocked!
It looks like Jari Nieminen has been cut.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kurmotus stands and steps away. Nieminen gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Nieminen is still on wobbly legs! Can Kurmotus finish him?
Nieminen uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Kurmotus.
Kurmotus lands with a big right hook that stumbles Nieminen - he's out on his feet here! Kurmotus follows up with another monster hook that separates Nieminen from consciousness! Nieminen falls, almost in slow motion to the canvas! Kurmotus stands and admires his work as the crowd go wild.
