The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Baduk bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Schowkowski's head backwards.

It looks like Kalle Schowkowski has been cut.
Baduk throws a head kick that misses.

Baduk gets caught flat footed, as Schowkowski shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Schowkowski drops back looking for a leg! Baduk is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Baduk manages to kick Schowkowski off! Schowkowski jumps back into Baduk's guard.

Baduk working for a triangle but Schowkowski defends it easily.

Baduk working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Schowkowski doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Schowkowski manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Schowkowski tries to close the distance and clinch but Baduk swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Baduk is defended easily by Schowkowski.
Baduk slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
