PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Joppe Pilgren (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mooney Rutten (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pilgren comes to the cage accompanied by stolt o stark. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Mooney Rutten!
The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Paulsen Ambrosius and Wagner Zegers.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pilgren misses with a wild combination.
Pilgren misses with a takedown attempt - Rutten sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Nice sprawl there from Rutten as Pilgren shoots in.
Pilgren moves in looking to clinch but Rutten pushes him off.
A jab from Rutten finds it's way through Pilgren's defenses.
Pilgren throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Rutten's waist but Rutten gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Pilgren off to one side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Joppe Pilgren. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Rutten lands a jab to Pilgren's midsection.
Pilgren is looking to clinch but Rutten is avoiding it.
Rutten fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Pilgren manages to avoid it.
Pilgren has a takedown stuffed.
Pilgren shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Rutten as he avoids it easily.
Rutten ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
No luck for Pilgren with that takedown attempt.
Pilgren moves out of range as Rutten strikes.
Rutten throws out a loose jab but Pilgren uses good head movement to avoid it.
Rutten defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Pilgren.
Rutten throws a nice looking combination but Pilgren bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Rutten misses with a body shot.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Rutten cracks Pilgren with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Rutten jabs Pilgren right on the nose. Pilgren blinks but takes it well.
Rutten throws a right hand that Pilgren ducks under and follows up with a left that Pilgren also avoids with ease.
Pilgren closes the distance and clinches up with Rutten, looking for a takedown. Pilgren pushes Rutten against the cage but Rutten circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Rutten leaves Pilgren with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Pilgren is breathing heavily.
Pilgren shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Rutten as he avoids it easily.
Pilgren tries to clinch but Rutten is having none of it.
Rutten jabs at Pilgren's body.
Pilgren takes one on the chin but seems OK.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Rutten connects with a body shot.
A jab from Rutten does it's job there.
Rutten punishes Pilgren's body with a nice straight punch.
Pilgren takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Rutten lands an uppercut out of nowhere! Pilgren falls backwards - clearly groggy! Rutten dives in and finishes the fight with more strikes for a TKO finish!
