Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Don Punch (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and DK MON (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). MON has chosen Bruno Mars-Just the Way You Are as his entrance music. The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Punch tries to close the distance and clinch but MON swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
MON fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
MON keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Punch throws a leg kick but MON moved away.
Punch is looking to clinch but MON is avoiding it.
Punch is looking to clinch.
Punch tries to clinch there but MON circles away.
Punch misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Punch cracks the inside of MON's front leg.
MON avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Don Punch has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of DK MON.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Punch throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Don Punch seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

MON fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Punch sprawls well initially but MON persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

MON stands up and beckons Punch to join him on the feet.

MON shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Punch defends it nicely.
Punch throws a jab but it's blocked by MON.

MON shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Punch tries to lock up and control but MON gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

MON moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Punch has worked his arm free - good work by Punch!
Punch manages to work his way to half guard, despite MON's best efforts.

Punch tries to kick MON off but MON keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

MON is working for a submission of some sort.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

MON seems to be looking for submissions.
MON thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Punch is looking for a sweep. MON is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Punch wants to get back to his feet.

MON is trying to work for a kimura but Punch is defending well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but DK MON will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Punch throws a right hand that MON ducks under and follows up with a left that MON also avoids with ease.

MON closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Punch to the mat! Punch manages to get full guard.
MON stopping the sweep attempt from Punch.
Punch trying to keep a closed guard but MON is proving a slippery customer.
MON trying to control the position from guard on top but Punch is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

MON is breathing heavily.

MON stands up and waves to Punch to follow him.
Punch throws the kick towards the body but MON avoids it.
Don Punch is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Punch fails with an attempt to clinch.
Punch tries to close the distance and clinch but MON swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

MON is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Punch's half guard.
Punch moves into full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Punch wants to sweep but no luck.

MON has gone for a leg lock! Punch slips out almost immediately though and dives into MON's guard.
Punch is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Punch has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Punch wants to control from the top but MON keeps moving.
Punch looking to sit in guard and control but MON gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

MON drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Punch dives on top into guard.
Punch controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Punch stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Punch tries to land a front kick but MON steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
MON fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Punch avoids it really well and circles away.
MON has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from MON there as he acknowledges the shot.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but DK MON will probably get the nod - 10:9.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!


MON tries for a takedown but Punch sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
MON blocks a head kick by Punch.
Punch tries to clinch but MON moves out of range.

and MON counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

MON is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Punch is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Punch has escaped and now he's on top!
MON takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Punch controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Punch gets to his feet - MON follows without any prompting.
MON circles away from the clinch attempt

and MON counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by MON.
Punch is trying to break the clinch but MON is controlling him.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
MON jumps guard but Punch stands there with MON around his waist. MON gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

MON works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Punch tries to circle away but MON has him pinned against the cage.
Punch looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
MON tries to pull guard but Punch won't allow it.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
MON tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Punch wants to break free but MON has control.
Punch wants to break the clinch but can't.
Punch is trying to break the clinch but MON is controlling him.
Punch wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Punch has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

MON has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Punch uses from the top position.

Punch stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Punch takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Don Punch has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
DK MON is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Punch tries to clinch but fails miserably

and MON counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
DK MON comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got MON winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
