The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rogers drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Rogers throws a sloppy head kick and Silva moves out of range easily.
Silva lands a jab-cross combination.
Rogers throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Silva lands a big head kick that sends Rogers tumbling to the mat! Silva takes a step backwards and waves Rogers back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Rogers is rocked!
Rogers takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Rogers is still on wobbly legs! Can Silva finish him?
Silva throws a sloppy head kick and Rogers moves out of range easily.

Rogers scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Rogers seems to have recovered his senses.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Silva looking for a sweep but Rogers has passed into full mount! Oh no!
Silva wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.

Rogers prevents Silva from getting the reversal.
Rogers lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Silva is trying to stand but he's not in a good position to be doing that! Rogers has taken his back!
Silva controlling the position well but he knows he's in a bad position.

Rogers has the rear naked choke here! This is very bad for Silva ! Can he survive? No! He's out! Rogers gets to his feet and celebrates with his cornermen. He looks absolutely delighted. In the post fight interviews he takes time to thank his parents and everyone who has believed in him from the start. How sweet.
