Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Ippo Mash (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gliz Rockrain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rockrain has chosen Superheros by Racer X as his entrance music. Ippo Mash has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Ippo Mash!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Gliz Rockrain!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horrible takedown by Rockrain or perhaps it was just good defense by Mash which made him look bad.

Rockrain gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Rockrain is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Mash defends well.
Rockrain looks gassed!
Mash looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Mash thows a big elbow that misses.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mash wants to pass the guard but Rockrain is keeping the position.
Mash preventing the sweep.

Mash passes Rockrain's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Mash perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Mash landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Mash is figuring out what he wants to do next.

Rockrain looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Still in half guard, Mash seems content to control.

Rockrain is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Mash is keen to just control but Rockrain is a slippery customer.
Mash lands with a punch from half guard.
Mash wants to control but Rockrain is keeping him busy.
Mash performing his best blanket impression for a moment.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Ippo Mash.

Mash jumps into guard, dragging Rockrain to the mat.
Mash keeping full guard, as Rockrain tries to pass.

Mash escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Rockrain gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Rockrain throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Mash works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Rockrain prevents Mash from getting back to his feet.
Mash working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Rockrain.
Mash has his hands on Rockrain's head, controlling the position.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Rockrain stopping the sweep attempt from Mash.
Rockrain trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Rockrain with a poor takedown

and Mash moves into the clinch.

Mash has clasped his hands together around Rockrain's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
Rockrain can't do much from the bottom here.
Rockrain manages to work his way to half guard, despite Mash's best efforts.

and Mash counters with a left and a right that stings Rockrain.

Mash closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Rockrain to the mat! Rockrain manages to get full guard.
Rockrain tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Rockrain is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Mash with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.

Mash stands up from guard. Let's bang!

Mash instigates a clinch.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Mash jumps into guard, dragging Rockrain to the mat.
Mash is adopting a defensive guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Mash avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Mash keeping moving, preventing Rockrain from controlling successfully.
Mash is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Rockrain slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Mash wants to stand but Rockrain is controlling the position.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Mash trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.
Rockrain wants to pass the guard but Mash is keeping the position.

Rockrain is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Mash is aware though and is defending well.
Mash wants to control from the top but Rockrain keeps moving.
Rockrain seems keen to control Mash's posture.
Rockrain is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Rockrain is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
Rockrain has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Rockrain is trying to control the position from the bottom.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Gliz Rockrain.

Mash closes the distance and pushes Rockrain back into the cage.
Rockrain jumps guard but Mash stands there with Rockrain around his waist. Rockrain gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Ippo Mash has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gliz Rockrain.
Rockrain tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Mash just stands there and leans against the cage.

Mash jumps guard and drags Rockrain to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Rockrain tries to free his leg and advance position but Mash is retaining full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Mash stands and throws Rockrain's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Mash is looking to take a break and control but Rockrain is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Rockrain is looking for a sweep.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Rockrain is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Mash off and has taken his back!
Rockrain wants to control the position but Mash frees himself and scrambles - Rockrain manages to regain control in side control.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Rockrain with the ground and pound but Mash regains half guard under the barage of strikes.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Rockrain lands a nice short elbow.
Rockrain wants to lay and pray for a moment but Mash keeps working.
Rockrain is stalling here. Mash is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Rockrain seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Mash has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
Rockrain sneaks back into half guard.
Rockrain wants to get back to full guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Ground and pound from Mash.
Mash prevents Rockrain from improving his position.
Rockrain is looking to control Mash's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Rockrain avoid being mounted?
Mash is looking to stall here but Rockrain recovers full guard.
Gliz Rockrain has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Mash stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Rockrain swivels though and keeps the full guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Rockrain is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Rockrain throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Rockrain fails with the takedown

and Mash counters by moving into the clinch.

Mash manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Rockrain postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Rockrain wants to pass the guard but Mash is keeping the position.

Mash looking for a guillotine here but Rockrain defends easily.

Well Mash has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
