The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Banuwa tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Wright paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Banuwa stuffs the takedown attempt from Wright. Wright gets slowly back to his feet.
Wright fails to land with a series of punches.

Banuwa shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Banuwa showed some decent athleticism there.
Banuwa is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.

and Banuwa decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Wright's guard.

Banuwa is looking to stand up but Wright won't let him.

and Banuwa counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Wright's guard now.
Banuwa wants to get up but he can't break Wright's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Wright is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Banuwa defends well.

Banuwa tries to close the distance and clinch but Wright swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Banuwa wants to clinch up but Wright keeps it at a distance.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Banuwa closes the distance and clinches up with Wright, looking for a takedown. Banuwa pushes Wright against the cage but Wright circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Horrible takedown by Banuwa or perhaps it was just good defense by Wright which made him look bad.

Oh but Wright is tightening it up a little... Banuwa has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight!
