Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jason Ellis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joao do Santo Cristo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ellis kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Applejuice by Taintstick. Jason Ellis has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Joao do Santo Cristo!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Stewart Dunkirk and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
do Santo Cristo walks into a left hand.

Ellis throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. do Santo Cristo was covering up waiting for the punch and Ellis finishes the takedown easily into guard.
do Santo Cristo is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Ellis tries to stand but do Santo Cristo is controlling from the bottom.
Ellis has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Jason Ellis dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Ellis cracks do Santo Cristo with an open hand slap.

Jason Ellis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ellis is trying hard to land a takedown here. do Santo Cristo sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Ellis shoots in for a double leg but do Santo Cristo sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

do Santo Cristo drops Ellis with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Ellis looks back up at him and smiles so do Santo Cristo waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.


It looks like Jason Ellis has been cut.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Ellis drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Ellis will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Ellis throws a strike but do Santo Cristo rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
do Santo Cristo sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Ellis's guard.

Ellis has a hand on do Santo Cristo's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. do Santo Cristo takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Joao do Santo Cristo showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Joao do Santo Cristo comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well do Santo Cristo has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
