Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Josh Ras (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mick Meyers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mick Meyers will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Josh Ras!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mick Meyers!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Winston Howard and Skip Squint.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ras fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Meyers stuffs the takedown.
Ras shoots in looking for a takedown. Meyers tries to sprawl out of it but Ras keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Meyers manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Josh Ras. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Meyers misses with a wild combination.
Ras misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Meyers throws a looping overhand right but Ras ducks down to avoid it.
Ras shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Meyers sprawls well. Meyers wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Ras gets slowly back to his feet.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Ras, as that shot connected.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Meyers postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Ras looks a forlorn figure.

Ras lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Meyers circles away quickly and effectively.

Ras closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Meyers to the mat! Meyers manages to get full guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Meyers throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Ras on the side of the head.
Ras takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.

Ras closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Meyers did well to prevent Ras getting side control.

Meyers is fighting to break Ras's control of his arms but Ras is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
