Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lyoto Machida (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michael Requina (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Felipe Paraventi and Emerson Jorge.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Machida shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Requina pinned against the cage. Requina gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Requina stuffs the takedown.
Machida fails with a takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Lyoto Machida. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Machida looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Machida missing with a left hand there. Requina was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Machida shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Requina as he jumps to the side.
Lyoto Machida seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Machida closes the distance and clinches up with Requina, looking for a takedown. Machida pushes Requina against the cage but Requina circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Machida will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Jab, jab by Requina - just one landing.

A bone on bone clash there as Requina blocks the leg kick.
Requina explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.
Machida is breathing heavily.
Requina lands with a right hand.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Requina lands a big right hand that sends Machida crashing to the mat! Requina stays standing though and waves Machida back to his feet!
Machida circles to his right, straight into a beautiful hook by Requina. Machida falls face first into the canvas - great knockout victory for Requina!
