Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Roland Tumpert (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eric Hogan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hogan has chosen Touch the Sky as his entrance music. Roland Tumpert has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Roland Tumpert!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Eric Hogan!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Steve Smith and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hogan scores with a takedown into Tumpert's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Hogan drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Tumpert dives on top into guard.

Tumpert has gone for a leg lock! Hogan slips out almost immediately though and dives into Tumpert's guard.

Tumpert is working an open guard so Hogan takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Hogan misses with a two punch combination.
Hogan wants to clinch.
Tumpert misses with the combination.
Tumpert throws a sloppy head kick and Hogan moves out of range easily.

Hogan comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Hogan lands with a good body shot.
Tumpert gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Hogan counters with an inside leg kick.
Hogan misses with a few strikes there.
Tumpert misses with a takedown

and Hogan counters with a shoot takedown. Tumpert fights it but they end up in guard.
Tumpert is breathing heavily.
Hogan throwing strikes but missing.

Hogan has gone for a leg lock! Tumpert slips out almost immediately though and dives into Hogan's guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Tumpert slips nicely into half guard.

Hogan tries to get to full guard but Tumpert has control of the leg.
Tumpert really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Tumpert is trying to work for a kimura but Hogan is defending well.

Hogan is defending against the submission attempts here by Tumpert.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Tumpert is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Hogan looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.

Tumpert is working for a kimura but Hogan is defending it quite comfortably.
Hogan is in trouble now - Tumpert has advanced to mount!

Tumpert moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Hogan has worked his arm free - good work by Hogan!

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Hogan sneaks back into half guard.

Hogan is defending against the submission attempts here by Tumpert.

Hogan looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.

Tumpert is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Eric Hogan dominated that round.
That's time! Tumpert's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.



Hogan bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Hogan goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Tumpert rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Hogan's guard! Nice work there by Tumpert!

Tumpert drops back, looking for a kneebar! Hogan looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Hogan looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Hogan!

Hogan tries for a kimura but Tumpert is defending well.
Hogan is breathing heavily.

Hogan decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Roland Tumpert is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Hogan feints and as Tumpert raises his hands in defense, Hogan changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Tumpert working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Hogan doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Hogan manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Hogan gets to his feet. Tumpert looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Hogan is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Tumpert takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

Tumpert has his takedown stuffed
and Hogan counters with a right hand to the body.
Hogan slips a jab and a cross from Tumpert.
Tumpert takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Hogan bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Tumpert's head.
Hogan connects with a nice looking jab.
Hogan ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Hogan cracks the inside of Tumpert's front leg.
Hogan lands a nice looking body shot.
Hogan ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Hogan is looking to slow Tumpert down with leg kicks.
A nice combination there by Hogan.
Hogan moves in looking to clinch but Tumpert pushes him off.

Hogan closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Tumpert to the mat! Tumpert manages to get full guard.
Tumpert will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Tumpert is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Hogan is aware though and is defending well.

Hogan trying to control but Tumpert is working from the bottom.
Eric Hogan has got the better of the ground game so far.

Hogan stands up and waves to Tumpert to follow him.
Hogan swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Tumpert with a poor takedown

and Hogan counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

Tumpert is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Hogan pulls his head out easily.
Hogan looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Hogan is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Tumpert has managed to free his arm - good work.
Tumpert works his way to full guard. Good work.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Hogan stands and steps away. Tumpert gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Hogan is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Tumpert rather than just go for the knockout.

Tumpert gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Hogan trying to control but Tumpert is working from the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Eric Hogan showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Hogan tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Tumpert was well out of range. Poor timing from Hogan.
Tumpert throws a series of punches but Hogan moves out of range.
Hogan has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Hogan looks to land a combination but Tumpert avoids it well.
Hogan misses with a few strikes there.

Tumpert gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Hogan drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Tumpert manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Hogan has Tumpert in his guard.

Tumpert drops back looking for a leg! Hogan is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Hogan manages to kick Tumpert off! Tumpert jumps back into Hogan's guard.

Tumpert postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Hogan is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Tumpert, into his guard.

Hogan pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Tumpert is keeping the position for now.

Hogan avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Hogan drops back, looking for a kneebar! Tumpert looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Tumpert looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Tumpert!

Hogan is trying to buck Tumpert off.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Tumpert swings around for an armbar but Hogan sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Tumpert's guard.

Hogan got a little sloppy there for a moment and Tumpert has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Hogan has managed to get both his arms back between Tumpert's legs - danger averted.
Hogan trying to control the position from guard on top but Tumpert is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Hogan decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Tumpert, up you get!
Tumpert doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Hogan ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Hogan scoring well with a low kick there.

Hogan drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Tumpert keeping moving, preventing Hogan from controlling successfully.
Hogan throws a big right hand that misses.

Hogan postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Tumpert is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Hogan, into his guard.
Hogan is trying to control the position but Tumpert postures up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Tumpert misses with a looping right.
Tumpert keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Tumpert shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Hogan counters with a slapping leg kick.
Tumpert has his takedown stuffed
and Hogan counters with a one-two to the body.

Tumpert gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Hogan to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Hogan thows a big elbow that misses.

Hogan gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
It's got to the stage where if one of these guys blows hard enough, the other might fall over.
Hogan takes a swing at Tumpert's ribcage but misses.

Hogan dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Tumpert misses with a takedown

and Hogan counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Tumpert's guard now.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Roland Tumpert. That's going to take a lot out of him.
