Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Akao Machida (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Freddy Lee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lee has chosen Everythings in it's right place as his entrance music. Freddy Lee has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Akao Machida's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Lee is defended easily by Machida.

Machida drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Machida got a little sloppy there for a moment and Lee has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Machida has managed to get both his arms back between Lee's legs - danger averted.
Machida would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Lee has his foot on Machida's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Machida works his way back into a safe position though.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Lee darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Machida has one foot on Lee's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
Lee will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Machida lands a damaging elbow.
Lee wants a takedown but no success here.

Machida is trying to trip Lee. He has hold of a leg but Lee is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Machida persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Machida decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Lee, up you get!

Lee shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Machida pinned against the cage. Machida gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Akao Machida has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Freddy Lee.

Machida feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
