Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jimmy Red (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mauri Kunnas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kunnas has chosen Jumal x10 Lavis - Jeesus as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kunnas rushes Red and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
A left hand lands to the body for Red.

Red pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Red throws a low kick but it's checked well by Kunnas.
Kunnas throws a looping overhand right but Red ducks down to avoid it.
Mauri Kunnas seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Kunnas darts in and clinches Red up against the cage.
Kunnas missing with knees to the body.
Kunnas lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.

Red escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

and Red counters with a shoot takedown. Kunnas fights it but they end up in guard.

Red closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Kunnas pivots, looking for a leg kick but Red is out of range and Kunnas settles back down.

Kunnas doesn't manage to clinch there - Red circles away.
Red uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Kunnas has time to react.

Kunnas moves in looking to clinch but Red pushes him off.
Red takes a swing at Kunnas's ribcage but misses.

Kunnas dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Red. That did some damage!
Red swings away with a leg kick that misses.

Red connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Kunnas's hands.

The fighters circling - Red throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Kunnas is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Red.
Kunnas feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Red's calf.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Kunnas takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Kunnas swings for the body but Red moves out of range.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Red drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Red is looking to slow Kunnas down with leg kicks.

Kunnas wants to stand and escape but instead Red has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Kunnas really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Red. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Red drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Red jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Kunnas keeping moving, preventing Red from controlling successfully.
Kunnas wants to sweep here but Red controlling him for the moment.
Red wants to pass the guard but Kunnas is keeping the position.

Red stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kunnas swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Red ducks under a wild hook from Kunnas.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Kunnas on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Red shoots in looking for a takedown. Kunnas tries to sprawl out of it but Red keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Kunnas manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Kunnas misses with a straight left.

A good leg kick by Red.
Red ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
An inside leg kick lands from Red.
Red takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Kunnas ducks under a wild hook from Red.
Red misses with a few strikes there.
Kunnas throws the left hand but Red avoids the punch easily.
Kunnas scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Jimmy Red will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Red drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Kunnas dives on top into guard.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Kunnas stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Kunnas wants it to stay on the feet.

Red is fighting to break Kunnas's control of his arms but Kunnas is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
