Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Argus Ayala (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jeffrey Goines (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Goines has chosen Neon Genesis Evangelion - Eva Goes Mental AMV as his entrance music. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Argus Ayala!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jeffrey Goines!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Eddie Farnsworth and Reed Andrews.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ayala fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Goines sprawls well initially but Ayala persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Ayala is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Goines is pressing down on Ayala's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Ayala has gone for a leg lock! Goines slips out almost immediately though and dives into Ayala's guard.

Ayala is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Goines defends well.

Ayala working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Goines doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Goines manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Goines closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Goines is nestled in close to Ayala, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Goines looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Ayala with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Goines works his foot free and advances to mount.

Goines is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Ayala to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Ayala shrugs it off.

Ayala is bucking up trying to escape but Goines cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Ayala sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

Ayala throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Goines was covering up waiting for the punch and Ayala finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Ayala escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Goines gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Goines might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Ayala kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Ayala has his foot on Goines's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Goines works his way back into a safe position though.

Well Goines has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
