The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Canmelianenko throws a series of punches but ben avoids them all with ease.
ben swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Canmelianenko counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Canmelianenko slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
ben keeping moving, preventing Canmelianenko from controlling successfully.
ben is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Canmelianenko is controlling him.
Canmelianenko has gone for a leg lock! ben slips out almost immediately though and dives into Canmelianenko's guard.
Canmelianenko looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

ben wanted to stand there but Canmelianenko had control of the position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
ben wants to get up but he can't break Canmelianenko's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Canmelianenko tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but ben swivels and escapes.

and Canmelianenko counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Canmelianenko.
ben utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Canmelianenko shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Canmelianenko was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Canmelianenko is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Canmelianenko extends the arm and ben is forced to tap!
