PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Hendo Ferra (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frank Mur (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Frank Mur will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Hendo Ferra!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Frank Mur!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mur's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Mur duly obliges.
Mur looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Frank Mur seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Ferra gets caught flat footed, as Mur shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Mur controlling from the top position.
Mur trying to control but Ferra is working from the bottom.

Ferra working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Mur doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Mur manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Ferra tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Mur has advanced to mount. Uh oh.
A nice elbow there by Mur.
Mur can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Ferra is looking to escape.

Ferra is looking to improve his position but Mur isn't that keen on the idea.

A close round but Frank Mur will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Mur throws a nice looking combination but Ferra bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Ferra needs to keep his hands up - Mur had a free shot at his head there.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Mur defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Ferra's arms.

Ferra is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Mur is defending well though. Ferra let's go of the attempt for now.

Ferra looking to hit a scissor sweep but Mur is one step ahead there.
Mur is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Mur wants to control from the top but Ferra keeps moving.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Frank Mur.

That's time! Ferra's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!



Mur changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Ferra looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Mur is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Ferra is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Ferra is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

Ferra has his foot on Mur's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Mur works his way back into a safe position though.

Mur got a little sloppy there for a moment and Ferra has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Mur has managed to get both his arms back between Ferra's legs - danger averted.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Mur stands up over Ferra, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Mur slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Mur lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Hendo Ferra.
I think Ferra has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
