Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Lyon Du (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rick Martin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Du comes to the cage accompanied by Du Hast. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Lyon Du!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Rick Martin!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Robert Douchet and Yves DeLean.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Du feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Martin keeping moving, preventing Du from controlling successfully.
Du seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Du is looking to stand up but Martin won't let him.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Martin keeping full guard, as Du tries to pass.
Martin has his foot on Du's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Du works his way back into a safe position though.
Du connects with a couple of short punches.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Martin is on top in guard.
Du has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Du is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Du has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Martin can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Du not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Martin with a flurry of punches that miss.
Du tries to land a sweep but no joy.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Du trying to keep a closed guard but Martin is proving a slippery customer.
Du trying to strike off his back.
Du wants to sweep here but Martin controlling him for the moment.
Martin wants to pass the guard but Du is keeping the position.
Du looking to control.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Martin clinches up against the cage.
Du manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Du stops a takedown attempt from Martin.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Martin will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Du up against the cage.
Du pulls guard successfully.
Martin drops back, looking for a kneebar! Du looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Du looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Du!
Martin looks gassed!
Du looks up at the clock and then as Martin takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Du smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
A lull in the action here.
Du's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Du trying to control the action but Martin is working from the bottom.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Martin avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Du.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Martin prevents Du from improving position.
Martin sneaks back into half guard.
Du takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Du is pressing down on Martin's thigh, looking to free his foot. Martin is holding on for now.
Martin is looking to improve his position.
Du is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Du is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Martin is just riding it out for now. Du eventually gives up the hold.
Du prevents Martin from improving his position.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Du is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Martin is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:24 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Lyon Du!
