Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Julius Schreck (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kon Kastas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Julius Schreck!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kon Kastas!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Winston Howard and Steve Erwin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice sprawl there from Schreck as Kastas shoots in.
Schreck with a lazy takedown attempt

and Kastas decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Schreck's guard.
Kastas stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Schreck swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Schreck can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Kastas controls the pace.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kastas wants to control from the top but Schreck keeps moving.
Kastas sitting in guard here, content to control.
Kastas has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Schreck is proving hard to escape from.
Schreck wants to get back to his feet but Kastas is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Schreck closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Schreck lands in his opponent's guard.
Schreck lands a couple of elbows.
Schreck trying to stand up but can't free himself from Kastas's guard.
Kastas pulls Schreck in close to his closed guard and prevents Schreck from doing any damage or advancing position.

Schreck won't allow Kastas to sweep him here.
Kastas is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Kastas keeping moving, preventing Schreck from controlling successfully.
Schreck is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Kastas has a closed guard, preventing Schreck from standing up.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Kastas tries to clinch but Schreck moves out of range.
Schreck throws a right and a left that Kastas avoids nicely.
Schreck has his takedown stuffed

and Kastas counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Schreck is breathing heavily.
Schreck wants to improve his position but Kastas is controlling well.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Kastas in particular looking to stall.
Kastas's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Schreck is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Kastas works his way into full mount!
Kastas takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kon Kastas dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Kastas misses with a kick to the body.

Schreck shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Kastas manages to regain half guard. Good work.
Kastas has his hands clasped together around Schreck's back. He's all about the action.
Kastas wants to control but Schreck is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Kastas slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Kastas is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Schreck wants to control but Kastas is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Kon Kastas.

Schreck looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Schreck trying to control from half guard but Kastas is working away.
Kastas manages to get to full guard.
Kastas seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Kastas will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Kastas manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Schreck manages to get himself to full guard.
Kastas looking to pass the guard.
Schreck can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Kastas controls the pace.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Kastas stands and steps away. Schreck gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Schreck throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Schreck slips under a jab from Kastas.
Kastas pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Schreck with a poor takedown

and Kastas counters with a takedown into side control.
Schreck is trying to escape the position but Kastas is controlling the position.

Kastas stands up and we're back to a striking position.

Kastas clinches.
Kastas tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Schreck has had enough of the clinch but Kastas keeps him there for the moment.
Schreck tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Kastas just stands there and leans against the cage.
Kastas looking to throw knees to the head but Schreck is blocking nicely.
Kastas taking a break, stalling in the clinch.
Kastas misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Schreck.
Schreck is pressed up against the cage. Kastas has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Schreck down to the mat. Schreck avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Kastas looks to score with a jab to the body but Schreck is just out of range.
Kastas is looking to clinch but Schreck is avoiding it.
Kastas fails to land with a series of punches.
Schreck doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Kastas counters with a single leg into guard. Schreck didn't expect that.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Julius Schreck. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Kastas stands up from guard. Let's bang!

Kastas decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Kastas scoring with strikes to the body and head.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Schreck keeping control of the position.
Kon Kastas has got the better of the ground game so far.
Schreck is trying to get back to full guard.

Kon Kastas showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!


A head kick by Kastas misses

so Schreck counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Schreck is looking to work some ground and pound but Kastas has wrist control.
Schreck wants to get up but he can't break Kastas's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Schreck avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Kastas looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Kastas wants to sweep but no luck.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Schreck being controlled here momentarily.
Kastas controls Schreck momentarily but Schreck frees himself.

Kastas wriggles free and stands up.
Schreck tries a head kick but it misses.
Kastas tries for a takedown but Schreck sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Kastas keeps the fight on the outside.
Kastas is looking to clinch but Schreck is avoiding it.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Schreck lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.

Schreck closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Schreck cracks Kastas with a nice body shot.
Kastas wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Schreck tightens his grip and picks Kastas up, before dumping him to the ground. Kastas manages to land in guard.
Schreck being controlled here momentarily.

Kastas is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Schreck has his hands clasped together but Kastas extends an breaks Schreck's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Kastas.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:48 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Kon Kastas!
