PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nitram Eyricus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and nat north (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Eyricus might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Eat You by Limp Bizkit. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 14 - 0, fighting out of London, nat north!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
north looks for a takedown but Eyricus sprawls well.
north tries to close the distance and clinch but Eyricus swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Eyricus takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Eyricus shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. north defends it nicely.
Eyricus misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
north tries to clinch up but Eyricus circles away and keeps his distance.

nat north seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
north lands with a straight right. Eyricus didn't see that one coming.

Eyricus has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. north avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

north is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Eyricus knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

north tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no north has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

north has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Eyricus is working away from the top position though.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Eyricus seems to be working for a kimura but north defends the submission attempt.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
north thuds his shin into the meat of Eyricus's side.
north throws a sloppy head kick and Eyricus moves out of range easily.

north shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

north is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Eyricus defends it well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Nitram Eyricus is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
north tries to close the distance and clinch up but Eyricus swats him away and circles back towards the center.

north scores with the left hand. Eyricus knows he should have avoided that one.
north throws a nice looking combination but Eyricus bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

north shoots in and bounces Eyricus off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Eyricus working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. north doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. north manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

north got a little sloppy there for a moment and Eyricus has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, north has managed to get both his arms back between Eyricus's legs - danger averted.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

north stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Eyricus swivels though and keeps the full guard.

north thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
north wants to control from the top but Eyricus keeps moving.

Eyricus has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but north can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
north won't allow Eyricus to sweep him here.

north is working Eyricus over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Eyricus is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. north knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften north for a finish.

north is trying to get back to his feet. He's worked up on to his knees and now he's on his feet with his head on the canvas, trying to shake Eyricus off. It looks like it's working - Eyricus slides off, much to his dismay, and we're back to standing! north displaying calm under pressure there.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Eyricus drops back looking for a leg! north is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and north manages to kick Eyricus off! Eyricus jumps back into north's guard.

north pushes a forearm under Eyricus's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Eyricus is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
