Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Roland Grant (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gunner Simpson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Simpson comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Forgotten kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Simpson jabs Grant right on the nose. Grant blinks but takes it well.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Simpson takes a swing at Grant's ribcage but misses.
Grant throws a body punch but Simpson moves out of range.
Simpson misses with a double jab.
Grant misses with an uppercut.
Grant keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
The fight stays on the outside here - Grant looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Simpson throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Grant uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Simpson.

Simpson looks to land a combination but Grant avoids it well.
Grant throws out a leg kick but Simpson moves out of range and Grant only half commits.
Grant misses with a looping right.
Simpson connects with a crisp jab.
Simpson steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Grant.

A left and a right from Simpson both land. Nice combination.
Grant tries to close the distance and clinch up but Simpson swats him away and circles back towards the center.

letting Simpson counter with a right hand.
Grant throws a lazy right hand but Simpson sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

and Grant connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Simpson closes the distance and lands a one-two.

Grant gets caught flat footed, as Simpson shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Grant is pulling down on Simpson's head. It's preventing any offense from Simpson, at least for the moment.
Simpson is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Simpson wants to control from the top but Grant keeps moving.
Simpson tries to free his leg and advance position but Grant is retaining full guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Simpson tries to free his leg and advance position but Grant is retaining full guard.
Grant is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

Grant is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Grant has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Simpson is working away from the top position though.
Simpson is stalling here. Grant is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Simpson seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Grant has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Grant is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
Simpson tries to bench press Grant off him but Grant keeps the position.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

That was a close second round but I would say that Roland Grant will probably get the nod.

I would just about give that final round to Gunner Simpson.
Well Simpson has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
