Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ali Mahamud!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Donatello Bradman and Eliza Hachem.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Duran takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
No luck for Mahamud with that takedown attempt.
Mahamud fails in his attempt to clinch.
Duran misses the shot to the body.
Mahamud shoots for a double leg takedown but Duran sprawls well. He's pushed Mahamud's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Duran slaps away a takedown attempt from Mahamud, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Ren Duran has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ali Mahamud.

Mahamud fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Duran avoids it really well and circles away.

Duran closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Duran jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Mahamud is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Mahamud and Duran has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Duran throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.

Duran is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Mahamud knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Duran shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Mahamud is refusing to be controlled, as Duran sits in half guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Duran advances nicely into full mount.
Mahamud is wriggling around trying to escape.
Mahamud is squirming around, avoiding Duran's attempts to control the action.

Mahamud is trying to stand up.
Mahamud is trying desperately to improve position.
Duran tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Mahamud wants to try and get back to his feet.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Duran throwing shots from mount but they're not landing.
Duran throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

Mahamud tries for a takedown but Duran circles away easily

and Duran decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Mahamud's guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Duran accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Duran goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Mahamud has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Duran but great work by Mahamud.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
