Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Perro Loco!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, James Edwards!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Shigeki Sano and Shirou Masuda.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Edwards misses with a series of wild punches.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Edwards.
A thudding body kick lands there by Loco!
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
The fight stays on the outside here - Loco looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Edwards looks to land a combination but Loco avoids it well.

Edwards moves into the clinch.

Loco's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Loco leaves Edwards with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Edwards throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Loco's waist but Loco gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Edwards off to one side.
Perro Loco has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of James Edwards.
Loco is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Edwards seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Edwards is trying to control the action in half guard but Loco is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Edwards perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Edwards wants to stand but Loco has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
Loco has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Edwards seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Loco does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Edwards in particular looking to stall.

James Edwards showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Loco is looking to control Edwards's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Loco avoid being mounted?

Edwards shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Loco but Loco pushes him off and we're back to square one.

The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Loco takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
Loco has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Edwards tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Loco avoids it.
Edwards tries to break free but Loco pushes him back against the cage.

Edwards pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Loco throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Edwards misses with a takedown attempt - Loco sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Loco lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Edwards circles away quickly and effectively.
Loco scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Edwards stalks Loco and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Loco's face. Loco staggers backwards, shaken.

Edwards feints and as Loco raises his hands in defense, Edwards changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Edwards wants to get up but he can't break Loco's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Edwards is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

And that's the end of the fight!
James Edwards comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Edwards has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
