Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 22 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Dwayne Johnson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Markus Bromley!
The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Emerson Jorge and Luis Engracia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson shoots in but no luck this time.
Johnson shoots in looking for a takedown. Bromley tries to sprawl out of it but Johnson keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Bromley manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Bromley leaves Johnson with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dwayne Johnson. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Johnson shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Bromley as he jumps to the side.

Johnson closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Johnson.
Johnson fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Bromley avoids it really well and circles away.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Johnson shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Bromley as he avoids it easily.
Johnson fails with a takedown attempt.

Bromley shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Bromley is in the full mount, landing strikes.
Johnson is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.
Johnson is breathing heavily.
Bromley content just to control the position here.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Bromley fails to move to back control.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Markus Bromley dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Johnson shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Bromley napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Bromley is in a bad spot here and he knows it... just holding on for now.

Bromley manages to get to full guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Markus Bromley.
Johnson gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Bromley counters with a single leg into guard. Johnson didn't expect that.
Bromley not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Bromley passes Johnson's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Bromley is taking a breather. Johnson says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Bromley is looking to advance position but Johnson won't allow it.

Bromley takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Let's hope that Bromley has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Johnson on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Johnson tries to get out of the position.

and Bromley counters with a single leg into guard. Johnson didn't expect that.

Bromley is pushing down on Johnson's leg trying to pass to half guard. Johnson is fighting to maintain full guard but Bromley has managed to sneak the leg through.
Bromley looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Johnson looks like he's trying to stand up.

Bromley is working for a submission of some sort.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Markus Bromley showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Bromley has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Johnson is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Bromley yanks on the arm and Johnson is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Bromley.
