Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Minsc Boo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pencil Neck (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Neck has chosen Rolling Stones - Paint it black as his entrance music. Pencil Neck will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Minsc Boo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Pencil Neck!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Boo connects with a solid leg kick.
Boo keeps the fight on the outside.

Boo takes the fight into the clinch.
Neck blocks the elbow strike.

Neck pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Neck moves in looking to clinch but Boo pushes him off.
Boo feints and then cracks Neck's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Neck down.
Neck doesn't manage to clinch there - Boo circles away.

Boo takes the fight into the clinch.

Neck is trying to trip Boo. He has hold of a leg but Boo is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Neck persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Neck throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Boo works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Neck stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Boo swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Boo might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Neck tries to close the distance and clinch up but Boo swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Boo moves into range and clinches up with Neck.

Neck ties up his opponent against the ropes and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Neck no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Neck is on top in guard.

Boo on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Boo tries to get out of the position.

A close round but Pencil Neck will probably get the nod.

Neck tries to close the distance and clinch but Boo swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Boo throws a push kick but Neck slaps the foot to one side.
A left lands for Boo.
Neck misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Neck misses with a two punch combination.
Neck changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Boo tries to avoid it but Neck manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Boo to the ground. Boo escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Minsc Boo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Pencil Neck.
A head kick misses from Boo.
A slapping body kick lands there for Boo.
Neck thows a body shot but no joy.
Neck moves in looking to clinch but Boo pushes him off.

Neck bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Boo pushes Neck away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Neck gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Boo is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Neck is controlling him well.

Neck decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Boo tries to clinch up but Neck circles away and keeps his distance.
Neck shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Boo as he avoids it easily.

Boo rushes Neck and pushes him back against the ropes in a clinch.
Neck has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Boo is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Minsc Boo.
