The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Yves DeLean and Ian Loll.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hugo looks for a takedown but Ortiz sprawls well.
Hugo takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.

Ortiz fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Hugo sprawls well initially but Ortiz persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Ortiz tries to pass to full mount but Hugo defends it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Hugo looking for submissions off his back.
Ortiz throwing shots but Hugo is blocking nicely.
Ortiz is stalling here. Hugo is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Ortiz seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Hugo has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
Ortiz is looking to regain half guard here but Hugo keeps moving and retains side control.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Ortiz fails with the takedown

and Hugo decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Ortiz's guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Hugo gets to his feet. Ortiz looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Ortiz doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Hugo counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Ortiz!
Ortiz is working to get back to half guard.
Hugo tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Ortiz is squirming around, avoiding Hugo's attempts to control the action.
BOOM! Hugo connects with a massive shot to the dome!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ortiz is wriggling around trying to escape.
Hugo is in the full mount, landing strikes.

It looks like Leto Ortiz has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Ortiz tries to improve his position but Hugo has taken his back! Hugo has a choke - it's sunk in pretty tight... Will Ortiz tap? No... maybe... yes! He's tapped! Hugo pushes Ortiz away and gets up to celebrate with his corner!
