Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ralf Dieter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sean Kennedy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ralf Dieter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Sean Kennedy!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Robert Douchet and Yves DeLean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kennedy circles away from the clinch attempt.
Kennedy takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Dieter moves out of range of the leg kick from Kennedy.
Dieter shoots in for a takedown but Kennedy shows good takedown defense.
Kennedy cracks Dieter with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.


It looks like Ralf Dieter has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Dieter punishes Kennedy's body with a nice straight punch.
Dieter takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Kennedy closes the distance but Dieter moves to the side

and Dieter counters by clinching up.
Kennedy's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!

With the two fighters working up against the cage, Dieter just misses with a elbow thrown towards Kennedy's brow.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Kennedy is trying to buck Dieter off.

The strikes coming from Dieter are missing the target in this wave of attacks.

The ground and pound from Dieter seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Dieter has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
You can see the frustration on Kennedy's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Kennedy fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Dieter.

and Dieter counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Kennedy!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Kennedy tries to lock up and control but Dieter gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Kennedy is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Dieter is staying active.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Dieter sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
Kennedy is in all sorts of trouble here.

That was a close round but I would say that Ralf Dieter will probably get the nod.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Dieter has hold of Kennedy's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Kennedy manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Kennedy is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
