And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Dennis Turcotte!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fight stays on the outside here - Turcotte looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
The Diamond throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Turcotte shoots in but no luck this time.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
The Diamond looks to land a left hand but Turcotte moved out of range nicely.

A looping hook to the body misses from Turcotte. The Diamond does a little dance to reset his feet.
Turcotte looks to score with a jab to the body but The Diamond is just out of range.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

The Diamond feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Turcotte's calf.

and Turcotte decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in The Diamond's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Turcotte passes easily into side control. Nice work.

Turcotte is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, The Diamond has escaped the position, nice work there.

You can see the frustration on The Diamond's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Turcotte is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. The Diamond knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Dennis Turcotte has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

and Turcotte holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
The Diamond is trying to break free.
The Diamond looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Turcotte is trying to work for a single leg takedown but The Diamond pulls him back up using the underhooks.

The Diamond is looking to stand up but Turcotte won't let him.
Turcotte wants to sweep here but The Diamond controlling him for the moment.
The Diamond wanted to stand there but Turcotte had control of the position.

Turcotte is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a tringle but The Diamond frees his head nicely. Oh but Turcotte has switched to an armbar! The Diamond is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
